Acoustic/Electric differences
Since the age of 12, I have been playing acoustic guitar. Now when i try to play ELECTRIC guitar, my fingers warp the strings and it sounds like its out of tune. I know its from the strength in my fingers from playing acoustic for so many years. This has always bugged me, since I would love to be able to play electric in a band, i just never seem to get it right, and my fingers always bend the strings almost right off the neck. Does anyone else have that problem?

Are Daisy Rock acoustic-electric guitars any good?
I'm trying to decide between an Ibanez and a similar looking Daisy Rock guitar. I have small hands so I'm looking for a slightly thinner neck. I know Ibanez basses have thinner necks and their guitars seem to be built the same way. Can any women give me a review on Daisy Rock's stuff?
I love the guitar. Looking for a new one...
I love playing the guitar. When i first started out i thought it was going to be really hard, but once i new the strings and cords, i started looking at tabs tryin to learn some songs and it was suprisingly really easy. Anyways, right now i have a Takamine acoustic electric guitar, one of the top of the line ones and it sounds amazing. Since that one is mainly an acoustic im looking for an electric one now, but dont know any ones that are really the best ones that wont let me down. Moneys not an issue as long as the quality is good. What are some nice, good guitars?...
Listen, and let yourself be heard. Who's your influence?
Everyone has influences, no matter what they play. Truth is, the more you listen to people, the more ideas you get on new things to try the next time you play... I have been playing guitar now for 15 years, and whether it's acoustic, electric, or bass, you can always find a sound that you might have heard somewhere else before, while the end result is always your creation. Here are a few influences I have found helpful in developing my own unique style: -Phil Keaggy -Oz Fox and Michael Sweet (Stryper) -Joe Satriani -Eric Johnson -Stu Hamm -Les Claypool -currently looking into a little Van Halen, but to be honest, never really listened to him...What about you? Who do you find helpful in finding YOUR style? Feedback is great...the more opinions, the more influence... So what's yours?Listen...and let yourself be heard.Dive Deep!
Anyone play the guitar?
I'v been playing for about a month an 1/2 both electric and acoustic(Electric guitar is my prefrence),Though I wish to learn both, my finger tips are just starting to get used to it they're peeling and caluosing which when trying to learn the guitar is a good sign and show of devotion...And trust me if your just begging "Devotion" is a must...actually it's an understatement! As I'v learned over the last month or so it's no where near easy as some people make it look.//_^ So far I can play the intro to sweet home Alabama and "kyienda" play Bulavard of broken dreams by Greenday, I know all the chords and the strumming pattern I just can't fret the chords fast enough yet. It sonds like Bulavard of broken dreams...just like with a couple seconds pause between each chord change. Any guitarist out there feel free to share your about your music.[[[[8^X
Who is a guitar player here in Mylot?
I would like to be in contact with other guitar players here, to share ideas and discuss about our favorite instrument. In short, I've been playing guitar for more than 30 years. I stopped after a stupid accident 5 years ago, but I'm very enthusiastic about resume my playing. What guitars do you play (acoustic, electric), what styles do you prefer to play? Tell me yor stories with the guitar and I'll be sharing mine.
What Kind of Violin Do You Have?
Do you like it? How much did it cost you?I had to sell my violin previously because I needed money more than the violin. Now I want to start taking violin lessons again and might have to buy a violin first (I have a 5 string violin, but it needs some work before it will really sound good enough for lessons, plus I'm not sure if the teacher will approve of a 5 string instrument).I'm looking at getting a new violin anyway. I'd prefer an acoustic electric, but I know those are pretty rare in violins. I was thinking of a silent electric practice model before, but that really wouldn't help me out for lessons so I most likely won't go with that idea. If you could let me know about your violin and what you like about it and what you don't, that would be very helpful. I'm not afraid of buying instruments online either if you have a recommendation of a particular place.
Straps for strapless acoustic guitars?
Really ignorant question for the musicians out there. I've played the guitar for a few years now but it's not my original instrument otherwise I'd probably already know this answer (My gut tells me the answer is nooo anyway).:PAnyway, is there any way to make a shoulder strap work on a cheap acoustic guitar that doesn't have those knobs for the strap? I know there are metal strap locks out there but I've never seen a kit to actually install knobs in the first place. While I plan on buying a decent acoustic electric guitar one day very soon, I would rather upgrade this one for now if possible to save some money. This guitar has a small white knob on the bottom that could be used for the bottom part of a strap but I don't know what to do about the top. Thanks!
