Who would you say was the most versatile Country Performer of all time?
My vote would go to Barbara Mandrell. She used to put on one heck of a show. She could sing great and play any instrument on the stage. She used to amaze me when the had her TV show because every week she was playing another instrument, and playing it WELL! I saw her play guitar (rythm and lead), banjo, pedal steel guitar, drums, keys and I think she even played a horn. How can you top that? What do you all think, who is you pick?
guitar teacher& instructer
hello just wanted to leave a few lines to let you know that if theres someone that would like to learn to play the guitar i teach general chords egbdfc&minorchords too & also bar chords& notes but i donot read music so i cant teach to read music i play by ear only when i learn a song i generily have to set down & listen to it& study it out then once ive done that ive usually got it for good but theres not too many songs that i cant play if i know them but if i dont i pick up on them pretty quick the same goes with the pedal steel. so if this inter u inquire David D.
Jimmy Bryant In Action
Ok, after scouring the net I've finally found some video footage of Jimmy Bryant in action. You have to remember this is really old stuff so the quality isn't that good. The first one is a very quick shot of him playing with Tennessee Ernie Ford, so try not too blink or you'll miss it!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TVRv0btVzI0The second clip shows him with Speedy West on pedal steelhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vzt1iA2D_KgAgain, the video is bad quality, but too me it kind of adds to it, makes one appreciate that there were seriously good guitarists about even back then, that many of todays players couldn't come close too.
